The Justice Center’s Housing Unit helps tenants in the region who are being evicted by their landlords or who are facing the loss of housing through the termination of a public subsidy – with a focus on tenants whose housing difficulties resulted from having been the victim of a crime. Housing Unit advocates typically assist clients in summary process actions before the Northeast Housing Court as well as in subsidy termination proceedings before the various public housing authorities in the region.
